Back in January, Leeds held talks with RB Salzburg over a deal for Brenden Aaronson, with Marcelo Bielsa desperate to sign the American.
Unfortunately, a move never materialised, but Leeds have kept the 21-year-old on their radar, even after Bielsa was replaced by Jesse Marsch.

In truth, the pursuit has probably intensified following the 48-year-old’s arrival, as he worked alongside Aaronson in Austria.
Now, Sky Germany provide good news for Leeds fans.
What’s the story?
Well, Sky Germany believe talks between Leeds and RB Salzburg are ongoing, and the United States international is keen to leave.
Crucially, it is said that Leeds are the favourites to sign Aaronson, which is pretty big news.
Sky Germany add that RB Salzburg are hoping to receive €25m – €30m (£21m – £25m) for their No.11, who is enjoying an impressive season.

So far this term, Aaronson has scored five goals, while also providing ten assists, in 35 games.
The New Jersey-born forward also shone against Bayern Munich in the Champions League Round of 16, which speaks volumes about his quality.
Leeds must sign Brenden Aaronson
In our view, Aaronson is a player who needs to be signed quickly, before the rest of Europe becomes aware of his talent.

In some ways, as far as we’re concerned anyway, it’s similar to when Liverpool signed Mohamed Salah from Roma, with few people aware of how effective the Egyptian was at that point.
To dismantle a Bayern Munich side at the age of 21 is certainly not easy, and if Aaronson is already this good, who knows what level he’ll be performing at in a few years.
Keep an eye on this saga, as Leeds seem determined to sign the American.
