Newcastle United are reportedly still pursuing Chelsea’s Kenedy.

Of all the Premier League teams that need reinforcements in January, Newcastle United may be the one who require the most help.
The Magpies have struggled of late and are left hovering around the relegation zone ahead of the January transfer window, with manager Rafael Benitez desperate for new signings.
Currently, Newcastle look like a Championship team struggling to cope with the step up in quality in the Premier League, and too many players appear to have been carried one step too far into the top flight.

Benitez will have a host of targets in mind for the summer transfer window, but one of them appears to be a player that he has pursued since Newcastle’s promotion from the Championship.
Newcastle were hoping to bring in Chelsea’s Kenedy on loan over the summer, but missed out on the Brazilian – and Benitez hasn’t forgotten about his summer target.
The Daily Mail recently reported that the Magpies are resurrecting their bid for Kenedy, and he is expected to join Newcastle on loan until the end of the season.

Kenedy, 21, has played just 25 times for Chelsea since a 2015 move from Fluminense in his native Brazil, scoring just three goals as he has struggled to nail down a first-team spot under Antonio Conte.
A move to St. James’ Park would give Kenedy a chance to play regularly, whilst offering Benitez another left back to compete with Paul Dummett – something he has been desperately lacking this season.
The summer move may have fallen through, but Newcastle now appear to have the perfect opportunity to finally land one of Benitez’s long-term targets as they look to stay in the Premier League.
