Patrik Schick has suggested to Sport Bild that he would rather join RB Leipzig than Newcastle United.
According to Il Sussidiario in Italy Newcastle have made an approach to sign Schick, but the £22 million-rated striker is eager to stay at RB Leipzig.
Schick has been with the German side all season, and now is hoping that his loan move is made permanent.
“I want to stay here the most! We played a great season,” Schick said.
“I believe in the team, in the coach’s philosophy. I like his way of playing football. I think we have the quality to play for the Bundesliga title and we play in the Champions League, so everything fits.”
Whether Leipzig will force through a permanent move for Schick still remains to be seen.

The forward hit 10 goals for them this campaign, and generally impressed for Julian Nagelsmann’s side.
Schick could have made an appealing addition to Newcastle’s side, given Steve Bruce’s lack of goalscorers.
However, it seems that if Newcastle are on the hunt for a number nine, they may have to look at other targets – as Schick has his heart on moving elsewhere.
