AIK plan to sell reported Leicester and Manchester City target Erick Otieno in the summer transfer window, the defender’s agent Jamal Ibrahim has told Fotboll Direkt.

It’s not every day scouts from two of the Premier League’s biggest clubs are jetting out to Stockholm.

But that’s exactly what happened last week when AIK took on Hammarby at the Friends Arena.

FD reports Manchester City and Leicester are both keeping a watchful eye on Otieno, a 24-year-old Kenya international who has risen from nowhere to become one of the most coveted players in the Allsvenskan.

The late-blooming left-back only joined AIK a matter of months ago.

But, according to his agent, the Stockholm-based outfit won’t stand in Otieno’s way if they receive an offer they can’t refuse for a defender who looks destined to earn AIK a huge profit.

“We talk to AIK from time to time about Erick and they want to sell him. We are happy the club wants to sell him,” Ibrahim explains.

“He has really found top form already. Of course there are foreign clubs that follow him, especially after the match against Hammarby. I have received many calls.

“There’s not much I can say about it – but that many are interested.”

Otieno certainly did his reputation no harm during the March international break.

The tough-tackling Kenyan kept Mo Salah at arms’ length during a 1-1 draw with Egypt – and it seems that performance could be about to catapult Otieno into the mainstream.
