The Burnley winger could return to the squad for the game against Tottenham Hotspur.

Burnley have earned much praise this season, with Sean Dyche’s side currently in sixth place in the Premier League table off the back of some resilient defensive displays.

Although they will have to cope without James Tarkowksi against Tottenham Hotspur tomorrow evening, Burnley have been given a boost ahead of the fixture at Turf Moor with the news that Jonathan Walters is in contention to feature after recovering from injury.

Walters, who joined Burnley from Stoke City in the summer, had been out since September due to a knee injury but is now fit again, as reported by The Lancashire Telegraph.

Despite not being the most prolific player, Walters will provide Burnley with a useful additional option and should make them more dangerous going forward given his strength and vast Premier League experience.

A hard-working player, Walters will be determined to force his way into the starting lineup but the winger faces a battle to get into the side in place of Johann Berg Gudmundsson, who has produced some encouraging displays this season.

With their resources depleted somewhat, especially with Robbie Brady out through injury, having Walters back available is certainly a welcome boost for Burnley.
