Wolves manager Walter Zenga has reminisced about the last time he was involved in a game at Villa Park.

Wolverhampton Wanderers manager Walter Zenga has been reminiscing about one trip in particular to Villa Park as he prepares his Wolves side for the derby clash this weekend, as reported by the Express & Star.
Those who have just seen the flamboyant nature of Wolves boss Zenga may not be surprised to hear that he was quite the goalkeeper back in the day.
The 56-year-old played for Inter Milan for 16 years from 1978 to 1994 and also featured in the Italy squad that finished third in the 1990 FIFA World Cup. He is often regarded as one of the great Italian keepers.
Zenga took part in a UEFA Cup tie 26 years ago that is still fondly remembered to this day in Birmingham, as his Inter Milan side lost the first leg 2-0 against Aston Villa.
The Italian remembers that day very well and was happy to talk about the experience, as quoted by the Express & Star: “I was different then, yes!

“That game in 1990 was a great atmosphere because it was the first time I played in the UK in an international competition.
“Coming from Italy…they were stadiums without barriers, fans close to the bench and the pitch, it was absolutely fantastic.

“It’s nice things and nice memories, but the stadium has changed and my position – I don’t go on the pitch!”
Whilst it is nice to remember the glory days, Zenga will be trying to keep his side’s attention focused firmly on what is a huge game for the club.
With inconsistency being something they have struggled with all season, some fans are growing restless as expectations around Molineux have grown substantially over the last few months.
