Tottenham Hotspur have started their campaign in impressive style, despite a home defeat in their Champions League opener.

Speaking on the BBC’S programme Football Focus, Tottenham Hotspur right-back Kyle Walker was bullish when discussing his side’s chances of success on all fronts this season, as quoted by the Evening Standard.

Spurs were dominant last night as they put League One side Gillingham to the sword, and eventually ran out as 5-0 winners.

Mauricio Pochettino’s men have begun their Premier League campaign in impressive style too, going unbeaten in their opening five games, and currently sit third in the table.

Their Champions League campaign began in disappointing fashion, however, with a 2-1 home defeat to Monaco, but Walker believes his side can win every competition they play in this term, as quoted by the Evening Standard:

“We’re in it to win it, as they say. We’re in all competitions and we want to win all competitions. With the depth of squad we have we can go out and attack every game and play the way that we play, knowing that if we’re not fit for one game the cover is there. Hopefully we can go far in each competition.”

Spurs’ chances of success will depend heavily on how much Pochettino rotates his squad, especially towards the business end of the season when players begin to become fatigued on a more regular basis.

Harry Kane has already been ruled out with a long-term injury, while Moussa Dembele and Eric Dier are doubts for Saturday’s game away at Middlesbrough after sustaining knocks at the weekend.

Tottenham fans would have been pleased to see Vincent Janssen get off the mark last night, albeit from the penalty spot, and they will need the Dutchman to be firing on all cylinders in the absence of Kane, if they expect to maintain their challenge for the Premier League title.
