Roy Keane has waxed-lyrical about Trent Alexander-Arnold and stated that he played Liverpool’s Community Shield win over Manchester City like he had been on a ‘walk in the park’.
Jurgen Klopp’s side beat Manchester City 3-1 at the King Power Stadium to lift the first piece of silverware on offer ahead of the 2022/23 campaign.
On paper, this is still pre-season, but yesterday’s encounter was a far cry from that because the game was all-action, hard-hitting, passionate and 100 miles-per-hour from both.

Alexander-Arnold, 23, opened the scoring for Liverpool with a brilliant long-range effort, before substitute Julian Alvarez equalised in the second half after a VAR check.
But, in the last ten minutes, the Reds took the game away from their rivals, with Mo Salah’s penalty and Darwin Nunez’s headed goal in stoppage time handing a first Community Shield title to Klopp.
That’s a great way for TAA to start a schedule-packed season, as Keane was left stunned by the player against Man City, as he told ITV Sport.
“You have got big squads,” said Keane. “Trent just did that interview. He looks like he has been on a walk in the park.
“These boys, these fitness levels and the hunger!”

SETTING THE BAR VERY, VERY HIGH
Both Liverpool and Man City have been seen as the top dogs of English football of late, with the Premier League title race going to the last day of the season in 2021/22.
Given that the duo can rack up 90+ points in their sleep, they will probably do it for the umpteenth time again.
It just provides very little chance for the others to, forget about winning the title, but just to challenge for it.
Whilst Erling Haaland struggled yesterday, that’s some serious firepower Pep Guardiola has added to his forward line and he should produce better in the Premier League, with Nunez impressing at the King Power after replacing Sadio Mane.
Either way, both have set the bar very, very high and, once again, small margins will probably separate them ahead of the new season.
