Southampton, Everton and Newcastle United are reportedly interested in signing Arsenal’s Theo Walcott in the January transfer window.
Southampton are reportedly interested in signing Walcott, but the England international is claimed to be worried about joining a club who could be in the Championship next season.
The 28-year-old, who can operate as a forward or as a winger, started his professional club football career at Southampton and joined Arsenal in 2006.
The Sun has claimed that the Gunners want as much as £30 million as transfer fee in order to part company with the Walcott.
Everton and Newcastle United have made enquiries about the Englishman, according to The Sun.
One can understand why Walcott would be concerned about joining Saints, and perhaps the same logic applies to Newcastle.
True, Newcastle are a big club and get around 50,000 fans for their home games at St. James’ Park, but Rafael Benitez’s are struggling for survival in the Premier League at the moment – just like Southampton are.
Everton, though, are doing well and could well end up in the top 10 of the Premier League this season, and maybe the Toffees have a better chance of signing Walcott than Newcastle or Southampton.
