Walcott may be a frustrating player at times, but his vast Premier League experience and ability to get into dangerous attacking areas with regularity is a major boost for Everton.
Allardyce now has the option of deploying Walcott on the right flank and Yannick Bolasie on the left, with the latter, who possesses pace and flair in abundance still building up his match fitness after a lengthy spell on the sidelines.
Once Bolasie is fully fit, he and Walcott could help to cause all manner of problems for opposing defenders and give Everton much more of an edge in the final third as they seek to preserve their Premier League status.
