
Arsenal fans have reacted on Twitter to Jadon Sancho joining Manchester United and how the deal is being structured.
Manchester United announced on Thursday afternoon that they have ‘agreed in principle’ for the transfer of the Borussia Dortmund winger.
But the £73 million fee for the England starlet will be paid over five equal instalments, according to BBC Sport, and it hasn’t gone unnoticed by those in Arsenal colours.
From one trickster to another, in 2019 Arsenal signed Pepe from Lille for a club record £72 million fee, as reported by BBC Sport.
And just like the Sancho deal, it was, or still is being paid in instalments.
But Arsenal fans don’t like the fact that they got stick, at the time, for concluding a deal in such a manner.
And given that Manchester United have done near-on the same thing with Sancho, they have made sure to mention it to their Premier League rivals.
Perhaps those in the Old Trafford offices will point towards COVID and how that has played a part.
But still, such a deal has been concluded for the light-footed speedster, who will be hoping to light up the Premier League next season.
Even though Pepe ended the 2020/21 Premier League season in a strong fashion, he is still trying to convince the large majority that he has what it takes to produce the goods over a season.
Sancho, given the hype and how long it took to get his signature over the line, will be hoping, just like his ability with the ball, to have a much quicker and precise impact.
