Some Aston Villa fans on social media have been reacting after it was reported that they want to sign Ashley Young this summer.
The Athletic report that Villa want to bring the 35-year-old back to Aston Villa, and as you can imagine, this sparked something of a reaction amongst the fanbase.
Supporters weren’t excited or disappointed by this news as much as they were shocked by it.
Young left Villa 10 years ago, and at the age of 35, it would have been hard to imagine that he’d ever play another game for the Midlands club, but it looks as though this sensational return could be on the cards.
This would have to go down as one of the most unexpected signings in recent history. After all, Young has just won Serie A with Inter, and Villa seem to be prioritising building a younger squad.
Whether or not this move comes to fruition remains to be seen, but Villa fans simply can’t believe they’re trying to bring Young back.
