Liverpool are currently top of the Premier League table after 11 games.
Quoted by the Mirror, Liverpool legend Ian Rush has said that the Reds can start talking about the title if they are still top of the league at Christmas.
Jurgen Klopp’s team are currently top of the Premier League table, one point ahead of second-placed Chelsea.
They have arguably been the most exciting team to watch, scoring 30 goals in their first eleven games, the most of any team in the division.

Their start means they are looking like definite title contenders this season but Rush says they must wait to see where they are at Christmas before such talk.
“I think at the moment we are playing better than anyone. We always look like we are going to score, and that’s exciting,” the Mirror quotes him saying.
“There is no reason why we can’t continue. I think come around Christmas, if they are still in the same position then, yes, probably [we can talk about winning the league].”

It will certainly be interesting to see if Liverpool are still top of the table come Christmas this year.
Five of their eight games between now and the end of the year are against teams currently in the bottom half of the table.
That means they have a serious chance to pick up points and establish themselves as serious title contenders between now and the New Year.
Of course, as Arsenal showed last year, being top of the table at the beginning of the year does not mean title success but a strong run would certainly put any lingering doubts about the Reds to bed.
