Some Liverpool fans on social media have been reacting after seeing Virgil van Dijk doing work on the grass at the club’s training ground.
The images were released on social media on Wednesday afternoon, and as you can imagine, they sparked a wild reaction from the fanbase.
Supporters were stunned to see the Dutch centre-half doing work outside on the grass just four months after going down with what was presumed to be a season-ending injury.
Working on the training pitch is usually quite a good indicator that a player isn’t too far away from returning, and while we haven’t had a date put on when the defender will be back in action, it seems as though he’s slowly but surely getting there.
Of course, van Dijk’s injury was very serious, so it’s unlikely that he’ll be starting games anytime soon, but every week it seems as though we’re getting hints that his recovery is stepping up.
Supporters were in shock after seeing these pictures, and we can only hope that his recovery continues to go well.
