Leeds United will return to action this evening when they take on Nottingham Forest away from home in the Championship.

The West Yorkshire outfit will head into the match against the Reds at the City Ground on the back of a 5-1 victory over Newport County at Elland Road in the second round of the EFL Cup.

The Whites have made a strong start to the season, and have already shown that they are genuine contenders for the playoffs.

Thomas Christiansen’s side have played good football and have been quite strong defensively.

Forest have also made a strong start to the season, but Leeds will be confident of picking up at least a point from this evening’s encounter.

One Leeds player who will be making to make his mark at the City Ground is Jay-Roy Grot.

The 19-year-old forward joined the Whites from NEC in the Netherlands earlier this week.

The Netherlands Under-19 international could make his debut for Leeds against Forest this evening, and his new teammate at Elland Road, Vurnon Anita, has shared his initial impression of him.

Anita, who can operate as a full-back or a defensive midfielder and joined Leeds in the summer transfer window after leaving Newcastle United at the end of last season, is also from the Netherlands, having played for the Dutch national team four times so far in his career.

“He is a young guy with a massive body,” Anita was quoted as saying by Leeds’s official Twitter page on Friday about Grot.

“This is his second day and he is getting to know everybody, and maybe he will get some minutes and show what he has got.”
