Wolverhampton Wanderers host Birmingham City in the Championship at Molineux this Friday.
Wolves manager Paul Lambert
Wolves host Birmingham City on Friday night in a game that pits two of the teams that many would have expected before the start of the campaign to be challenging for the top six, but instead, currently languish in the bottom-half of the Championship. But where do you think the points will be going?
Based on both teams’ current form, it is difficult to suggest that either will be securing the three points at Molineux.
Paul Lambert’s men may have beaten Premier League pair Stoke and Liverpool in January, but they have lost their last four in all competitions. And while the 2-0 loss to Chelsea was respectable and the defeat to Newcastle was understandable, the losses against Burton and Wigan will have surely frustrated the Wolves boss enormously.
But while Lambert is starting to find life difficult, he has surely got a long way to go before he has to cope with the difficulties that Gianfranco Zola has faced since arriving at Birmingham.
Birmingham City manager Gianfranco Zola
The Blues board’s decision to sack previous manager Gary Rowett has looked a poorer and poorer call with every game the Midlands side play under the Italian.
Zola has overseen 14 games at the helm, but has tasted victory just once. They are currently on a run of five defeats in six games and lost 4-1 at home to QPR in their last outing.
So with neither filling supporters with that much confidence, here is your chance to vote on what the result be in Friday’s game…
