The former Rangers star was pleased to see Celtic get thumped.

After being thumped in the Old Firm derby at the weekend Rangers fans were probably not the most sympathetic of neighbours when they saw Celtic get turned over by the imperial Barcelona in Spain last night.

Barca were in slick form, eventually winning the game 7-0 with Lionel Messi scoring a hat-trick.

One man who was seemingly very pleased with watching the game was former Rangers midfielder Vladimir Weiss.

The Slovakian had originally planned to watch former club Manchester City, but their game v Borussia Monchengladbach was postponed due to rain.

Instead he revelled in Celtic’s inharmonious defeat on Twitter:

It comes after Weiss had this to say about Celtic in an interview with the Scottish Sun earlier this week, in which his Rangers colours certainly shone through:

“They are the weakest side in the group and they will find it very difficult to pick up any points. I hope they don’t.

“I hope City can win both matches against Celtic. It would be good to see that happen because if I’m being really honest, I don’t like them.”

He spent the 2010-11 season on loan at Ibrox from Manchester City – playing 35 times and winning the Scottish title and League Cup trophy.

Celtic fans should of course not be too perturbed by the comments of Weiss, who is currently playing his football with Al-Gharafah in Qatar.

Bhoys fans can always quickly remind him of the 5-1 win at Parkhead that preluded a nightmare evening in Catalonia.
