Glasgow Rangers managerial candidate Pedro Caixinha currently bosses former Ibrox star Vladimir Weiss.
Vladimir Weiss – Rangers in action
Qatari based boss Pedro Caixinha is the surprise favourite to land the Glasgow Rangers job, with SkyBet pricing him at just 2/1.
Caixinha currently manages Al Gharafa, and has a surprising link to the Gers – among the players under his command at present is ex-Gers star Vladimir Weiss.
Weiss’ well travelled career saw Caixinha bring him to the club in 2016, where he has flourished of late.
He has scored nine goals in his past 13 appearances, and it would be no surprise if Caixinha looked at bringing a player he trusts with him to Ibrox.
Weiss signed for Rangers on loan from Manchester City in the 2010/11 season, and scored five goals on his way to helping the team win the league.
His career since has taken him to Italy, Spain and Greece before he moved to the Middle East, and while he is enjoying his football, it is hard to believe he would reject the chance to return to Ibrox.
Weiss, 28, still has more to offer in the game, and has repeatedly expressed his passion for Rangers on Twitter, and hit out at rivals Celtic too.
Adding the winger could be a move which instantly brings Caixinha favour if he is appointed, and a move which is too obvious to turn down.
