Tottenham Hotspur had a bid rejected for Polish winger Piotr Zielinski this week, report Italian newspaper Il Mattino.
Zielinski is interesting both Spurs and Liverpool but Serie A side Napoli are reluctant to sell just one year after buying him from Empoli.
Former Tottenham defender Vlad Chiriches is a current teammate of Piotr Zielinski, and the Romanian had generous words about Zielinski this past week.
Chiriches, who left Tottenham in 2015, went up against his club pal in international competition as Poland took on Romania.

Speaking to Italy’s Sport Press, he raved: “Zielinski is a magician, I often play against in training and he surprises me every time: it is unpredictable.
“He has excellent technique, I love watching him play.”
Poland went on to beat Romania 3-1, with Robert Lewandowski scoring a hat-trick. Romania are now almost certain to miss out on World Cup qualification.

Zielinski at 23 could be a smart signing for Tottenham. The winger has shown glimpses of real promise through his career to date although is yet to put it together and have a really strong and consistent season.
Maurici Pochettino could be the man to unlock that potential but Tottenham’s rejected offer was a substantial one. It would be tough to go above the £25 million they have already had knocked back.
