Sunderland have made a disappointing start to the season and are already looking like they could get relegated to the Championship.

The Black Cats lost 2-1 to Manchester City away from home at the Etihad Stadium on the opening weekend of the 2016-17 Premier League campaign.

David Moyes’s side went down 2-1 to Middlesbrough at the Stadium of Light in the league last weekend.

On Wednesday evening, though, Sunderland got the better of Shrewsbury Town 1-0 at the Stadium of Light in the second round of the EFL Cup.
