Vitaly Janelt has admitted that he is unhappy with his current situation at Brentford this season.
The German, who was a regular starter for Thomas Frank’s side last campaign has started just 15 games this time around, which seemingly does not impress him.
After all, the midfielder has started just one out of the last 5 Premier League matches, which is a sign that he is currently not being fancied by the Bees boss.
Now, Vitaly Janelt has said that he is unhappy with things at Brentford, who are flying this season, sitting as high as 9th in the league.
Vitaly Janelt admits he is unhappy at Brentford
Thomas Frank ultimately has all the power to pick the side he wants, especially considering where his side are on the table and also the fact that they have gone 12 league matches in a row without a single defeat.
In an interview with German outlet Kicker, Vitaliy Janelt explained why he is unhappy at Brentford at the present moment, saying, “I had spoken to the coach on Sunday in training.”

“You’re not happy as a player if you’re not on the pitch every game but I know my situation as a player and what I can bring to the team. I respect every decision the coach makes, everyone knows how hard it is to pick 11 players at the end of the day. Right now, it’s not particularly positive for me that our biggest competition is in midfield.”
“But a lot always happens, suspensions and injuries, which you don’t hope for but you always have to be ready to take your chance. I can only bring my performance in training and in the game.”
It seems as if while Vitaliy Janelt is unhappy, he has an optimistic outlook that revolves around grabbing his next opportunity in the side with both hands.
