Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly keen on Bournemouth defender Nathan Ake.
Liverpool defender Virgil van Dijk recently promised to help Tottenham Hotspur reported target Nathan Ake ‘grow as a player’ as Spurs are seemingly keen on his services
The Sun have claimed that Tottenham are planning a £40 million bid for Ake as Mauricio Pochettino is the favourite to land the signature of the Bournemouth defender.
In April 2018, the Cherries were beaten by Liverpool at Anfield and Holland centre-back Van Dijk was full of praise for his fellow countrymen after the game.
He vowed to help in his game, both as a footballer and as a person as he stated that the ball playing defender has ‘so much potential’ in his game.
“Nathan is a great player and a great guy and I like him a lot,” Van Dijk told the Daily Echo. “It is difficult to play against our attack but I know how good he can be. He is still young and can learn a lot.
“As captain of Holland, I hope for him to grow as a player and as a human being. I hope he can achieve as much as possible and, when we are with the national team, I can help him as well. He is doing very well and has so much potential.”
Whether Ake moves to Tottenham or not, there is no doubt that he has a bright future ahead of him and it won’t be a surprise to see the 24-year-old playing for a team in Europe in the near future.
He has a brilliant player in Van Dijk to look up to as the Liverpool players calmness and leadership qualities would no doubt bode well for a player like Ake.
Either way, after signing no players during the previous two transfer windows, the Spurs supporters will be glad to see they could potentially be doing some business this summer.
