Everton are said to be keen to make a late swoop for Bournemouth’s Nathan Ake, and Liverpool defender Virgil van Dijk is a big fan of the centre-back.

If Everton can get a deal for Nathan Ake done they would be signing a player highly recommended by Liverpool centre-back Virgil Van Dijk.
Everton would have to break their club record to bring in Ake, and the transfer does seem unlikely.
But if they did pull it off, Van Dijk would surely be impressed by Liverpool’s rival’s business.
“I hope he can achieve as much as possible and, when we are with the national team, I can help him as well,” Van Dijk told the Bournemouth Echo just last year.
“He is doing very well and has so much potential.”

Ake has developed into one of the finest centre-backs in the Premier League through his performances at Bournemouth.
He would offer Everton composure on the ball and speed at the back if he was to join.
Everton are thought to have considerable funds to spend, and do want another centre-back before Thursday.
The Toffees begin their season with a match against Crystal Palace at the weekend.
