Liverpool eeked out a 2-1 win at Aston Villa in dramatic circumstances today.

They say that winning ugly is the hallmark of Premier League champions and Liverpool did that today against Aston Villa.
Dean Smith’s side looked on course for a shock three points at Villa Park after Trezeguet’s first-half strike proved the difference for so long.
But Andy Robertson equalised for Liverpool on 87 minutes, before Sadio Mane grabbed a dramatic stoppage-time winner to break Aston Villa hearts.
Here’s how Reds’ centre-back Virgil van Dijk and hero Robertson reacted to the victory on Twitter:
Consequence of the win, Jurgen Klopp’s side stay six points ahead of Manchester City, who also came from behind to beat Southampton 2-1 at the Etihad.
At one point it looked like the gap would be reduced to three points ahead of Liverpool hosting Pep Guardiola’s side at Anfield next week, but the European champions turned it around in the nick of time.
Victory over the Sky Blues next week would take the Merseyside club nine points clear of Guardiola and co, meaning it’ll be so very hard to catch them.
