Liverpool defender raves about his defensive partner.

Liverpool centre-back Virgil van Dijk has told the club’s official website how impressed he is with teammate Joel Matip.
Matip has spent most of 2019 as Van Dijk’s partner, with Dejan Lovren and Joe Gomez both struggling with injuries and fitness.
While all four defenders are fit for the Champions League final, Matip is expected to get the nod in the final after starring against Barcelona.
He said: “I’m delighted for him that he’s at that level. The way he is performing, that’s unbelievable. If you look at the second game against Barcelona, his performance at home was unbelievable.
“It helps everyone and I’m just very happy to help everyone as well.”

Matip has struggled with injuries himself during his time at Liverpool, prior to this season, and he is now getting the luck he has been missing.
The Reds signed Matip on a free transfer, and while it has took a while, he is proving to be a real bargain.
He is just one more game away from clinching the biggest prize in club football along with Van Dijk. Their performances this season have deserved more than just individual accolades.
