Liverpool star is a big believer in Dutch teammate.

It is still unclear who Liverpool defender Virgil van Dijk’s long term partner at the club will be in central defence.
For the Netherlands it is a little more clear cut, with Ajax sensation Mattijs de Ligt already representing his country.
The 18-year-old is already a regular for Ajax and has already made nearly 50 appearances for the club.
This is a fee Liverpool could easily afford to pay, and Van Dijk would be in favour.

Speaking to De Telegraaf, Van Dijk said: “Matthijs De Ligt is an excellent player, already mature for 18 years old.
“‘Good enough is old enough’, they often say. Of course I do not know what options he has [for a transfer], but when I see how he plays for Holland, it does not matter if he leaves the Eredivise now or in two years, that’s up to him.”
De Ligt has really stepped up for Ajax since Davinson Sanchez’s departure to Tottenham, and he is considered as having the potential to become one of Europe’s best defenders for the next decade.
Imports from the Dutch league are notoriously hit and miss, but Van Dijk’s praise and first hand knowledge of De Ligt should tempt Liverpool into considering a big money move for a player who will soon become impossible to ignore.
