Liverpool fans have taken to Twitter in amazement after spotting Virgil van Dijk appear in a football series called Farewell, My Dear Cramer.

What’s so special about that?

Well, the series has been made into an anime, a style of Japanese film and television animation which is extremely popular across the globe.

Fans of Liverpool, and fans of anime, have gone crazy after spotted the colossal Dutchman in Farewell, My Dear Cramer.

There has been much hype about it, as football rarely crosses over into the anime world.

The anime is about a woman footballer who wants to shape her game around James Milner, and it also name-drops Jürgen Klopp!

Additionally, the coach in the anime wears a baseball cap, and focuses their style of play around Gegenpressing, just like Klopp.

In our view, the writer is definitely a Liverpool fan!

Farewell, My Dear Cramer also includes other tributes to famous footballing figures.

Other sides in the anime model their game on styles adopted by Diego Simeone, Pep Guardiola and Antonio Conte.

If you’re a football fan, and also a fan of anime, you should definitely give Farewell, My Dear Cramer a watch!

Forget anime for a second – Liverpool fans might soon be able to watch the real Van Dijk back in action very soon.

The Dutchman recently posted a video of himself sprinting out on the pitches at the AXA Training Centre.

He looked strong and confident in his body, with no signs of a limp or anything such as that.

The next step is for Klopp to ease him into first-team training once again, where Van Dijk must test if his knee can handle twists, turns and the force of tackling.

Hopefully, the £75 million man doesn’t suffer any setbacks.

It would be utterly heartbreaking if he did.

Let’s see what the Liverpool – and anime – fans on Twitter have been saying after spotting Van Dijk in Farewell, My Dear Cramer…
