The emphasis will be on the South Korean to produce the goods for Tottenham Hotspur over the next couple of months.
Tottenham legend Vinny Samways backed Heung-Min Son to step up to the plate during Harry Kane’s impending absence, when speaking exclusively to the Sun, labelling the South Korean as an amazing player who always delivers.
The 26-year-old joined Spurs from Bayer Leverkusen in the summer of 2015, for a fee believed to be worth somewhere in the region of £18 million, and he has gone on to rack up 65 goals and 35 assists in 180 appearances in all competitions for the north London outfit.
Son has really come to the fore over the past two seasons, however, and he is now widely regarded to be one of the best attackers in the Premier League, if not Europe.
The South Korea international will be heavily relied upon over the upcoming weeks and months, with Harry Kane set for a prolonged period on the sidelines through injury.
And Samways, who made 253 appearances for Tottenham, backed Son to fill the void left behind by the Englishman, when speaking exclusively to the Sun:
“Son is amazing, he’s the one who has stepped up every time Kane has been out. And in big games he always delivers, he’s been a fantastic signing.”
Tottenham have some vitally important games to come over the next few weeks, out notably against Manchester City in both the Premier League and the Champions League, and Son will have to be on his very best form, if his team are to flourish without Kane.
