It was the Merseyside outfit’s second successive victory in the league following a 3-1 success over Arsenal at home.
Burnley took the lead at Anfield after just seven minutes when Ashley Barnes found the target.
Liverpool restored parity in first-half injury-time through Georginio Wijnaldum, and Emre Can put the home team in the lead just past the hour mark.
Former Leeds United and Chelsea midfielder Vinnie Jones was following the match, and he sent a message to Liverpool on social networking site Twitter about their defence.
Liverpool are fourth in the Premier League table at the moment with 55 points from 28 matches.
The Merseyside outfit are five points clear of fifth-placed Arsenal, who have two games in hand.
The Reds will return to action on Sunday evening when they take on Manchester City away from home at the Etihad Stadium in the Premier League.
