Jones was at Leeds in 1989-90, and he has suggested that fans of Premier League duo Liverpool and United would not want the Whites back in the Premier League.
“They should do a Wolves and get in the Premiership,” Jones said on The Alan Brazil Sports Breakfast show on talkSPORT on Monday morning (6:53am, August 27, 2018).
“I think everybody would agree, get Leeds in the Premiership, Liverpool and Man U fans, maybe not, but who cares about them.”
Sleeping giants
Leeds are one of the biggest clubs in England, and even in the Championship, they get over 30,000 fans for their home matches at Elland Road.
The Whites have a good team this season, and in Marcelo Bielsa, they have a world-class manager.
It is very early in the season, but the Elland Road faithful must be optimistic about what likes ahead.
