So good are Atdhe Nuhiu’s recent exploits that one of his former teammates is considering naming a child after the Sheffield Wednesday striker.

Nuhiu, who scored both goals as Wednesday defeated Leeds United a fortnight ago, struck twice again in the Owls’ Good Friday win against Preston North End.

The Kosovo international opened the scoring shortly after half time, and all but sealed the points with a sublime individual effort in time added on.

Afterwards, Sasso posted on Twitter:

Nuhiu is one of seven Wednesday players whose contracts expire at the end of the campaign, although his manager Jos Luhukay revealed his intention to extend the 28-year-old’s Hillsborough stay.

This is Nuhiu’s fifth season with the Owls, and his second most prolific, having registered nine goals – two shy of his 2014/15 tally.

Only injured striker Gary Hooper (11) has scored more for Wednesday than he has this season, with Lucas Joao next on eight.
