Tottenham Hotspur striker Vincent Janssen’s former coach has explained why the 22-year-old is destined to succeed in North London, in comments appearing in Sky Sports.
The Netherlands international has already impressed the White Hart Lane faithful in his handful of pre-season friendly matches and his two Premier League games.
Janssen has displayed a commitment and tenacity that will never fail to catch the eye of supporters, but he has also linked up well with his teammates, and looks a natural fit with Mauricio Pochettino’s high-press tactics.

Fred Grim, the former Ajax goalkeeper who managed Janssen at Almere City, following his release from Feyenoord as a youngster, as well as briefly for the Netherlands Under-21 side, had exciting words for Tottenham fans already encouraged by the performances of their new striker.
“I know Vincent as a player who is always working hard to get better, in every training session and in every match,” he told Sky Sports. “He proves that by working hard every day, and by believing in yourself, you can achieve your goals.”

“At Spurs, Vincent will first have to get used to the higher level of the Premier League. But I know that he has the willingness and the desire to prepare properly that will allow him to grow and develop into the level required.”
Janssen started alongside Harry Kane in the club’s last match, a 1-0 win against Crystal Palace, and should have scored after being put through by Dele Alli.
But the mental strength Grim highlighted will ensure the former AZ star will continue to push himself whether he is playing instead of, or alongside Harry Kane. And there was plenty of evidence at the weekend to suggest it could be the latter.
