The Turkish giants tried to prise the Dutch striker away this month.
The agent of Tottenham striker Vincent Janssen has told Dutch outlet Omroep Brabant that the summer signing has turned down an approach from Galatasaray to instead stay at White Hart Lane.
Janssen cost Spurs £17 million in the summer, but he has hardly enjoyed a fairytale first season in England thus far.
The 22-year-old has scored just three goals in 23 appearances for the North Londoners, and has often cut a frustrating and frustrated figure on the pitch.
His poor form has seen him linked in some corners of the media to a premature departure from White Hart Lane, with Voetbal International claiming this week that Galatasaray were hoping to sign the Netherlands international on loan.
However, Janssen’s agent Patrick van Diermen has now revealed that the striker has turned down that approach from Turkey as he wants to stay and fight for his future in London.
Van Diermen told Omroep Brabant: “He decided to turn down all interest. Galatasaray came with an offer but Vincent will stay with Tottenham Hotspur. He decided to turn down Galatasaray.
“Vincent chose Tottenham Hotspur in the summer fully aware of what his chances would be to play. He signed a long-term contract with a good club with fantastic facilities and a good coach.
“Before he got injured he got playing time every week. He is enjoying his time and wants to fight for his chance.”
It seems pretty definitive, then, that Janssen will be staying at Spurs at least until the summer.
Spurs fans – and Mauricio Pochettino – will be hoping to see a marked improvement in his goalscoring record in the final four months of the season to prove that he can yet become a hit in English football.
