Both Vincent Janssen and Moussa Sissoko featured for Tottenham Hotspur against Swansea City last night.
Vincent Janssen’s performance for Tottenham Hotspur against Swansea City on Wednesday evening, may have just saved his White Hart Lane career.
Janssen has endured a difficult first year in English football, and he has found goals very hard to come by.
However, after starting against Burnley, and performing the role of impact substitute against Swansea – Janssen has proven his worth.
Spurs were 1-0 at the Liberty Stadium when Janssen was introduced, but the Dutchman’s arrival sparked the North London side into action.
Tottenham scored three late goals to keep the pressure on league leaders, and Janssen had a hand in all of them.
Janssen was voted by supporters as Spurs’ man of the match, and earned great praise from Mauricio Pochettino after the match.
It felt like a tale of redemption for the 22-year-old, and the task for him now will be to build on this encouraging display.
For Moussa Sissoko, things could hardly have gone differently though.
Sissoko has also suffered with a difficult for season at Spurs after signing from Newcastle United last summer, but his performance at the Liberty Stadium may well be his last for Pochettino’s side.
Sissoko was ironically cheered off by Tottenham fans, when he was substituted just after the hour mark.
The Frenchman failed to get involved, with his poor performances continuing.
Sissoko was already in the last chance saloon before playing against Swansea, and he may well have just wasted his final opportunity to make his move to Spurs a success.
