Tottenham Hotspur are in the market for a new midfielder this summer, and Real Betis star Giovani Lo Celso is one rumoured target.

The Daily Mail claim that Mauricio Pochettino wants to lure Lo Celso to North London, after watching him hit 12 goals and four goals this season.

The 22-year-old won’t come cheap though; Marca believe that when Betis make Lo Celso’s loan from Paris Saint-Germain permanent for £21.3million, they will demand €60million (£51million) for his services.

That would be a huge amount for Spurs to pay, but they could yet have a secret weapon in their pursuit – unwanted striker Vincent Janssen.

Janssen hasn’t played at all this season having fallen well out of favour under Pochettino, and the Dutchman is almost certain to leave Spurs this summer.

One club who were majorly keen on Janssen in January was Betis, with Sky Sports reporting that a loan move fell through, whilst Estadio Deportivo hint at Betis possibly being back in for him this summer.

Swap deals are often difficult to pull off in football, but offering up Janssen to try and bring the price of Lo Celso down could just help Spurs beat other clubs to the Argentinian’s signature.

Offloading an unwanted player to get a star midfielder sounds ideal for Spurs, and with Betis allegedly keen on Janssen, the striker can help Tottenham secure a big deal this summer.
