The summer signing has pledged to deliver goals for the Spurs faithful.

Tottenham striker Vincent Janssen has sent a message to the club’s support promising goals, in an interview with Spurs TV.

The Dutchman shared his thoughts on the Crystal Palace game – particularly his glaring one-on-one miss – and pledged to find the back of the net the next time he is in a similar situation.

“(As I went through) I was thinking ‘I have to score this’. But the moment went so fast and it was one step too many,” said Janssen.

“It was very frustrating for me because the fans were so good and I want to give something back. I will promise the next time I get this chance I will score for sure.”

Spurs fans will hope the 22-year old makes good on his promise and despite his failure to find the net, he already seems like a shrewd addition.

His physicality gives Spurs another dimension in attack and allows Mauricio Pochettino to operate with two natural strikers on the pitch when required.

He has linked well with Harry Kane and the rest of the Spurs attack, and appears to be taking to English football quite comfortably.

Playing both Janssen and Kane together is an adventurous move and it remains to be seen whether Pochettino changes his approach for this weekend’s clash with Liverpool.

The Reds have already shown they are a force to be reckoned with going forward this season and the Spurs boss could opt for his tried and tested starting XI in a bid to combat Jurgen Klopp’s team.
