The Tottenham Hotspur player could not help his country to a win they desperately wanted.

Tottenham Hotspur striker Vincent Janssen has been speaking to Voetbal Zone about the Netherlands’ 1-1 draw with Sweden in qualifying for World Cup 2018.
While the two sides took a point apiece courtesy of goals from Marcus Berg and Wesley Sneijder, Janssen says he and his Dutch teammates were left bitterly disappointed after failing to turn their dominance into three points and a vital win.

“This actually feels like a defeat,” the Tottenham player told Voetbal Zone. “We were the whole game better and had the best chances.
“We sat with our heads down in the dressing room, but we can be satisfied with the game.”
The Netherlands will be desperate to qualify for the next World Cup after missing out on Euro 2016 after a poor run of form.

As for Janssen, he has showed glimpses of his talent since swapping AZ Alkmaar for Tottenham earlier this summer but he will be disappointed to have not yet found the net despite some close calls.
The need for Janssen to replicate his form from the Eredivisie has only been increased by Tottenham teammate Harry Kane’s poor form since the end of last season, after his disappointing performances for England at Euro 2016 continued into the new campaign.
