The Dutchman has struggled to find his best form during his time at Spurs.
Tottenham’s Vincent Janssen in action
Tottenham Hotspur striker Vincent Janssen has been discussing his conversations with Dutch national coach Danny Blind regarding his troubles at White Hart Lane.
Speaking to Mee Met Oranje the Spurs striker explained how after discussions with Blind he decided to continue pooling his efforts into improving with Spurs:
“I have had a good telephone conversation in the winter. The content of the conversation I keep between us. And we should not make it bigger than it was, for so large it was not. “
“It was about how it then stood. I gathered from several people advice and it was evident very quickly that I was going to focus entirely on Tottenham.”
This week he is set to feature for the Netherlands as they take on Bulgaria in a World Cup qualifier and then Italy in an international friendly fixture.
He says, that despite not featuring regularly for Spurs, he is feeling fighting fit for the fixtures:
“I do not play a lot of minutes at Tottenham, but feel fit. Against Sweden and France, we leave unnecessary items. However, everyone is optimistic because we still have all the chances in the World Cup. Here we go for it. “
Janssen was an exciting signing from Spurs in the summer. After scoring goals galore for AZ Alkmaar in Holland and impressing on international duty with Holland.

But it has been a struggle since his big-money move to Spurs. He only recently scored his first goal from open play with the club, netting in the 6-0 win against Millwall in the FA Cup.
He has been playing second fiddle to Harry Kane for much of the season but his recent injury may see Janssen get some more first-team football in the weeks to come.
Some good form on international duty should hopefully help him in that goal.
