Aston Villa striker Jonathan Kodjia is on fire right now, but his work also draws similarities to a former Wolverhampton Wanderers forward.
Jonathan Kodjia has indeed been a revelation since arriving at Villa Park. The 27-year-old’s goals and overall contribution to the side have helped them bounce back from a poor early start, and under Steve Bruce he seems to be thriving as the main man in the squad.
His success follows on from a successful tenure with Bristol City, and it also closely resembles another former Midlands hero – Sylvan Ebanks-Blake.
Ebanks-Blake, who won back-to-back Championship golden boots, tore up the football league with Plymouth before making the switch to a bigger club just like Kodjia.

Their playing styles are extremely similar with both utilising their strength, endurance and powerful finishing ability in order to make an impact on a weekly basis.
Both players have that burning passion and never say die attitude that is bound to create success in the lower leagues, especially given their overall talents. One can only hope that should Kodjia get a chance in the big time, he will fare slightly better than Ebanks-Blake did upon promotion with Wolves.
Either way, do not be surprised to see Kodjia top the scoring charts by the end of May.
