Leeds United fans reacted on Twitter to the club posting a picture of Kalvin Phillips, Declan Rice and Aston Villa’s Jack Grealish last night.

All three played a huge part as England beat Germany in a knockout game for the first time in 55 years at Euro 2020 on Tuesday.

Whilst Leeds and West Ham United’s defensive rocks started the game, Villa’s expert ball-carrier came off the bench and was involved in both of the goals.

A lot was made about this German team, the history and their know-how, but both Rice and Phillips, playing in a midfield two, didn’t let the opposition settle and bullied them off the ball.

The intent, aggression and intelligence they pressed them with was incredible, not forgetting their use of the ball throughout the 90 minutes.

As for Grealish, his presence alone pushed England further up the pitch as he was involved in the opening goal minutes after coming on, before putting the ball on the plate for Harry Kane to score the second.

To think that back in the Championship days, both Villa and Leeds fans were in verbal fights about the duo, and now they are thriving in the colours of their country together.

That mini rivalry will no doubt continue next season in the Premier League, as Villa fans will be hoping their star man stays on board, which seems likely, as both them and Leeds will be pushing for Europe.

Nonetheless, here is a selection of Leeds fans reacting to their club’s official post last night:
