Aston Villa, Leeds and Nottingham Forest target Marcus Maddison will reportedly cost £2.5m to sign from Peterborough.

It will cost £2.5m to sign Marcus Maddison from Peterborough United this summer, reports the Nottingham Post, with a host of Championship clubs interested.
Nottingham Forest and Reading are among those currently tracking the midfielder, who was placed on the transfer list by the Posh earlier this month.

Chairman Darragh MacAnthony explained that when Maddison signed a new three-year deal at the ABEX Stadium last August that if the club failed to secure promotion from League One, the 24-year-old would be allowed to leave.
Birmingham Live reports how Aston Villa have also shown interest in the past, while Leeds Live outline that Leeds United have had the Newcastle United academy product on their radar.

Maddison has enjoyed a hugely impressive season with Peterborough in 2017/18, providing the most assists in the entire division with 16 and also scoring 12 goals in all competitions.
The former Gateshead man generally operates as a number 10 behind the striker, but is also comfortable playing on either wing.
