The Aston Villa cult hero left Villa Park in the summer after helping Dean Smith’s Villans get to the Premier League, and is now at the City Ground.

A number of Aston Villa fans have taken to Twitter to comment on Albert Adomah’s impressive performance for Nottingham Forest in Tuesday night’s 3-0 win over Derby County in the Carabao Cup.
The 31-year-old was released by the Villa Park outfit at the end of the 2018-19 season, a hugely successful campaign in which they finished in the Championship’s top six and then won the playoffs.
Adomah joined Villa in 2016 from Middlesbrough and made 125 appearances for them, including 24 league starts last term (Transfermarkt), and is the second club he helped to promotion along with Boro, so he remains well loved by the claret and blue fanbase.
The Ghanaian has already established himself as a fan favourite at Forest after arriving at the City Ground in the summer and, on Tuesday, put in a superb display as he opened the scoring, provided a great assist for Joe Lolley and was generally a constant nuisance for the opposition.
Here is what some Villans said on social media regarding their cult hero’s display in the Garibaldi red against the side they overcame at Wembley en route to the Premier League:
Tuesday night proved fruitful for both Forest and Villa in the Carabao Cup, the Reds wiping the floor with their rivals and the Villans doing likewise with Crewe Alexandra at Gresty Road to reach the third round of the competition – could the two Midlanders find themselves up against each other?
