One of Aston Villa’s key men has been rewarded for his recent efforts.
Aston Villa striker Christian Benteke has been rewarded for his fine recent form by being crowned the Premier League’s Player of the Month for April.
The Belgian international has played a vital role in Villa’s resurgence under the recently appointed Tim Sherwood, scoring five goals last month.
The 24-year-old netted once against both Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur and three times in a 3-3 draw with Queens Park Rangers.
He has started May in a similar vein, scoring twice in a 3-2 victory against Everton and suggesting he is well and truly back to his best.
Villa’s form has seen them climb to 14th in the table, two points clear of the relegation zone with three games remaining.
The Villa striker now has 15 goals for the season and after his latest award we took to Twitter to see what Villa fans thought.
