Speaking on the 1874 Podcast, Gregg Evans has delivered an update on Aston Villa’s January plans, including an update on some potential outgoings at Villa Park.
The journalist was discussing the ongoing problems of a coronavirus outbreak within the Villa squad, and he was asked whether or not this situation will affect Villa’s transfer plans.
Evans said that he’s not sure whether or not Villa’s plans will be affected by this, but he did say that the Villans are looking to get rid of a couple of players.
“Do you think that will affect their January plans at all now?” Evans’ co-host asked.
“It’s a good question, yeah, one I don’t necessarily have the answer to right now. Villa are willing to let a couple of players go out still if they get offers for them.”
Villa have quite a bloated squad at the moment, so it’s not all that surprising to hear they’re ready to sanction a couple of sales.
Unfortunately, we don’t know which players Evans is alluding to here, but it’s interesting to note that they are open to offers.
Whether or not these offers come in remains to be seen, it has been a very quiet window so far, and while they’ve already managed to shift Robert Snodgrass, that’s one of the only transfers that have gone through in the Premier League so far this month.
This is a situation that is certainly worth keeping an eye on in the coming weeks.
