Johansson is just 18, and signed from Swedish side Hammarby three years ago.
The young goalkeeper made an appearance for the first team in pre-season last year, and drew the praise of Gordon Cowans after his then under-21 bow last January.
He told Villa’s audioboom channel: “Viktor’s very highly-rated by all the goalkeeping staff. They all think he’s going to be a special goalkeeper. I think the kid’s got a hell of a chance.”

Johansson is young, but if he has the right temperament, then he could become an option for the Villans, if not this season then next.
By that time Villa will have had more time to consider the merits of Sam Johnstone and if they want to and can sign him permanently or decide to look in a different direction – potentially right in front of them.
