Leeds United got a much needed victory earlier this week.

Leeds United got back to winning ways with a 2-1 victory against Bristol City on Tuesday evening, with goals from Pablo Hernandez and Chris Wood sealing three points and rendering Milan Djuric’s late strike a mere consolation.
While the goal-scorers took the headlines, Leeds’ midfielders played a vital role in the win, with teenager Ronaldo Vieira stepping up in the absence of skipper Liam Bridcutt to put in one of his best performances of the season.
Eunan O’Kane was the player to replace the Scotland international, but Vieira outshone his more experienced teammate on the night with a string of superb individual statistics.
| Passing Accuracy | Tackles Won | Duels Won | Aerials Won | Interceptions Won | Effective Clearances | Key Passes | Ball Recoveries | Mins Played | |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Ronaldo Vieira | 84% | 4 | 10 | 0 | 1 | 2 | 1 | 12 | 90 |
| Eunan O’Kane | 83% | 1 | 4 | 1 | 1 | 1 | 1 | 6 | 77 |
By the end of the match, the Leeds teenager had a passing accuracy of 84 per cent and he had won a very impressive 10 duels and 12 ball recoveries.
In contrast O’Kane won four duels and recovered the ball on six occasions, and while there is no doubt he was overshadowed by Vieira, the summer signing still played his part in the victory.
Whether he has done enough to keep his place when Bridcutt returns remains to be seen, but Leeds manager Garry Monk will certainly not be dropping Vieira in this kind of form.
