The ex-Manchester United defender has warned his Inter Milan team-mates…

Former Manchester United defender Nemanja Vidic thinks Celtic have the best atmosphere in Europe at Celtic Park, according to the Daily Record.

The now Inter Milan centre-back, who will miss his side’s Europa League tie at Celtic on Thursday night, has experienced big crowds all over Europe – and has been particularly impressed by those in Turkey.

But not like he has at Celtic Park.

Indeed, the 33-year-old, who left Manchester United for Inter last summer, says the Bhoys have the best atmosphere and most passionate crowd in Europe.

He has consequently warned his team-mates they will have a truly tough task on their hands blocking out the noise…

“Throughout my career, I have played in some really tough places in terms of the noise and the passion the fans create. Every game I have played in Turkey stands out for passion created by the fans – but the best has been at Celtic Park,” the ex-Manchester United defender is quoted as saying.

“There is no question on a big European night they are going to create a lot of noise – but we must be professional and mentally block it.”

Celtic host Inter on Thursday on the back of a superb domestic run. Their 2-1 win over St Johnstone was their eighth in a row and boss Ronny Deila says he has already been preparing for the Europa League tie in terms of squad rotation.

As for Inter, an indifferent 2015 could take a turn for the better with a vital result at Celtic Park. Vidic’s former side Manchester United, meanwhile, travel to Preston North End in the FA Cup on Monday night.
