They got off to a poor start after Chelsea’s David Luiz gave away a penalty, but QPR’s Julio Cesar saved from former Manchester United man Diego Forlan.
Rejuventated striker Fred put Brazil up just before half-time, only for Napoli frontman Edinson Cavani to reply straight after half-time.
With the game looking to be heading to extra-time, Spurs target Paulinho rose to head home a corner and hand Brazil a crucial win.
