Watch below, as Son Heung-min continues his wonderful, resurgent form with a well-placed header for South Korea on Tuesday afternoon – as the Tottenham man proved to score the only goal of the game against Cameroon.
The 30-year-old came into the break after a mixed start. It took him until Tottenham’s ninth game of the season in all competitions to finally score his first goal of the season. Indeed, Antonio Conte actually benched him against Leicester.
But Son came off the bench to score a hat-trick as Spurs won 6-2. Going into the break with his tail up. But if anything, probably more relieved. His focus would have been on winning with South Korea, but also, maintaining momentum.
That momentum has certainly continued. With moments left during last week’s friendly with Costa Rica, Son bent a free-kick into the top corner. Then, on Tuesday afternoon, he got the only goal of the game to beat Cameroon 1-0.

No goals in his first eight games, Son now have five in his last three for both club and country. Quite the immediate turnaround but the best example that class is permanent and form is temporary. Son has been immense recently.
You would expect Son will now continue to score goals, and create them, pretty regularly up until the World Cup. Arsenal is next up at The Emirates, and Spurs have 13 more matches to play before everyone’s focus turns to Qatar.
But one thing is for sure. Son is back, and producing the kind of form that saw him finish level with Mo Salah in terms of goals last season in the league. If Spurs are to succeed in this season, then a fit and firing Son is crucial to that.
