The Tottenham Hotspur defender leaving Ajax’s stadium on crutches will be a real worry for the club.

Tottenham beat Ajax 3-2 last night, reaching the Champions League final for the first time in their history, but it seems as though it wasn’t all good news for the north London outfit.
Dutch media outlet VTM Neiuws posted the below video showing Spurs defenderJan Vertonghen leaving the Amsterdam arena on crutches:
It is unclear what the problem actually is with the Belgian, but Tottenham fans will be praying that he is fit for the final.
The 32-year-old is so important to Spurs, and having him unavailable for selection against Liverpool would be a massive blow for Mauricio Pochettino’s side.

Tottenham do, of course, have Toby Alderwiereld, Davinson Sanchez and Juan Foyth who can all operate at centre-back, but Vertonghen’s know-how and experience would be greatly missed.
There is still just over three weeks until the final is played, however, so Vertonghen has every chance to be back fit in time for Spurs’ crunch clash with Liverpool.
